About product
Les Paul™ Standard 50s Double Trouble Model,
The main difference between this model and the Les Paul Standard 50s is that, thanks to its uncovered pickups, vintage-style nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and hand-applied unique burst patterns, it delivers a more classic feel both visually and in character, closely resembling old-school Les Paul guitars.
Produced in limited quantities, the Les Paul™ Standard 50s Double Trouble offers a unique appearance for each instrument and stands out as a more exclusive choice for guitarists who appreciate vintage aesthetics.
1️⃣ Pickup difference
The Gibson Les Paul™ Standard 50s Double Trouble features Burstbucker™ 1 (neck) and Burstbucker™ 2 (bridge) humbucker pickups in an uncovered configuration.
These pickups feature:
- Classic Double Classic White bobbins
- Alnico 2 magnets, delivering a rich, warm, and well-balanced tone
In the standard Les Paul Standard 50s model, the same pickups are fitted with metal covers.
The uncovered pickup design gives the Double Trouble model a more pronounced vintage look, along with the classic aesthetic character associated with old-school Les Paul guitars.
2️⃣ Finish difference
The Les Paul™ Standard 50s Double Trouble guitars feature a vintage version of the classic nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
This finish:
- Creates slightly faded and soft color transitions
- Gives the guitar a naturally aged feel, as if it has been played for years
In contrast, the standard Les Paul Standard 50s models use a full gloss nitrocellulose finish, providing a cleaner, factory-new appearance.
The Vintage Bourbon Burst color option highlights the classic 1950s Les Paul aesthetic with warm brown tones and smooth burst transitions.
Additionally, each Double Trouble model features a unique burst pattern. Since the bodies are hand-sprayed, every guitar is visually unique and one of a kind.
