Overview

Genelec 8020D sets a benchmark for compact nearfield monitoring, delivering exceptional performance relative to its size. The latest revision of this studio classic provides higher SPL output while maintaining lower energy consumption compared to earlier versions.

Equipped with a 4-inch woofer and an advanced reflex port design, the 8020D delivers tight and low-distortion bass reproduction extending down to 62 Hz. Its 0.75-inch metal dome tweeter, enhanced by Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology, ensures consistent on-axis and off-axis response with highly stable stereo imaging.

The Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) die-cast aluminium cabinet design reduces edge diffraction and ensures a smooth frequency response with precise sound staging. The monitor also features dedicated high-headroom amplifiers for each driver, an advanced active crossover, integrated driver protection circuitry, and comprehensive room response compensation controls.
